Main Focus

Meiirzhan’s main research focus is to study the millet cultivation and paleoclimate conditions in eastern-central Europe from the 2nd millenium BC and onwards. Using a combination of miliacin biomarker identification and deuterium stable isotope analysis, he hopes to understand whether millet exploitation success and setbacks across time and space are linked with past climate changes.

Curriculum Vitae

Meiirzhan obtained his BA in History from the Eurasian National University in 2021. He earned his Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in Archaeological Materials Science (ARCHMAT) from the University of Evora in its HERCULES Laboratory for the Study and Conservation of Cultural Heritage (Portugal), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), and Sapienza University of Rome (Italy).
